THE REFEREE

Foul Detection

EXCELLENT

Comment...

There was not too many fouls for the referee to detect. The referee saw all major fouls that occurred in the match. In a Blackburn attack, he correctly awarded a free kick to Blackburn when Manchester #40 fouled the player. In the 32,62 and 64 min the referee tried to play advantage when a foul was committed, however no advantage was gained and he brought it back for the free kick.

Positioning

GOOD

Comment...
The referee regularly took up good positions throughout the match to help make some of the decision. However in the 65min, he incorrectly awarded a goal kick when there was an obvious deflection. All other positions were good especially in corner kicks where he took a good position to make sure that no fouls were committed.

Man Management

GOOD

Comment...
The referee could have maybe issued more verbal warning to show man management throughout the game. He kept control of the match throughout the whole game and used his cards when necessary. He used very clear signals to show what decisions he was making.

Card Issuing

EXCELLENT

Comment...
All cards were correctly given and administered and were given with reason. First card of the game came early in the 26min to show his match control.

Fitness

EXCELLENT

Comment...
The referee had a excellent fitness which allowed him to keep up to play and make the correct decisions

THE ASSISTANT REFEREES

Assistant 1 - EXCELLENT 8.7
Assistant 2 - EXCELLENT 8.5

Comment...
Assistant 1 helped with identifying and advising the referee on fouls committed near him. Both assistants got all decisions correct.

OVERALL

VERY GOOD

SCORE

8.8/10
